Zimpler, a provider of instant bank payment solutions, has announced key senior appointments aimed at strengthening the company’s focus on the iGaming sector.
Firstly, Co-Founder Johan Friis has been appointed as Zimpler’s new Head of iGaming. With a background as Head of New Solutions, Friis has played a pivotal role in driving business development and forging commercial partnerships within the iGaming domain.
With this in mind, it is hoped that his extensive experience will position him well to spearhead Zimpler’s new initiatives in this sector.
Talking on this matter, Zimpler CEO Johan Strand, stated: “Johan’s experience and business acumen are valuable assets for leading our iGaming division, aligning with our increased commercial focus in this area.”
In addition to Friis’ appointment, Zimpler has welcomed Annamaria Anastasi as Commercial and Sales Director and Marie Fogmark as Business and Product Director for iGaming.
Providing an overview of these new hires, Strand went on to say: “Johan, Annamaria and Marie bring the necessary senior leadership and expertise to navigate the iGaming market.
“Their skills will be pivotal for Zimpler, particularly as we aim to advance and expand our position in the iGaming sector, focusing on regions like Brazil where there are significant growth opportunities.”
Zimpler faced legal battles in Sweden last year. The sticking point revolved around a disagreement with the Swedish Gambling Authority, the latter of whom ordered Zimpler to stop providing payment services containing BankID to iGaming companies that accept Swedish customers without a Swedish licence.
