Jewell Loyd Over 21.5 Points (-118)
Perhaps this is too easy and every public bettor is going to back this over. Jewell Loyd has scored 30 or more points in back-to-back games, and she just dropped 30 against the Wings on Saturday. When a player is that hot and facing an opponent they just had success against, there is no reason not to back them.
When these two teams met for the first time this season, Loyd scored 19 points in 33 minutes. She was just 1-of-6 from three-point range in that game. If she had made one more, she would have hit this over in that contest as well. In her last two games, Loyd is 8-of-15 from deep. Expect her to hit multiple shots from beyond the arc tonight and hit this over.
Kahleah Copper Under 21.5 Points (-108)
The first meeting between the Sun and Mercury saw the Sun come away with a 70-47 victory. In that game, no Mercury player scored in double figures while Copper finished with just seven. Copper is averaging 22.7 points per game this season, but she has been wildly inconsistent. She has recorded five 30-point games, but she has scored fewer than 10 points in two of her last three.
The Sun possess the best scoring-defense in the league. This poses a challenge for anyone but especially for a team who will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back. This is the third game the Mercury are playing in four days, and considering their opponent, it’s going to be a long night for them offensively. To get the Under for better than -110 presents great value.
Alyssa Thomas 10+ Rebounds (+108)
The Sun outmatch the Mercury across the board, and they will have a decided advantage on the boards tonight. While the Mercury are actually averaging more rebounds than the Sun this season, the Sun are the best team in the league at preventing their opponents from cleaning up the glass. Meanwhile, the Mercury are allowing the second-most rebounds per game this season.
The Mercury outrebounded the Sun in the first meeting between these two teams, and Thomas only pulled down six rebounds. Thomas and the other leading rebounders for the team saw reduced minutes because of the lead they held. Thomas played just 24 minutes in that game but is averaging 34.1 per game this season. This will be a closer game, which means Thomas will have more opportunities to operate how she normally does.
