Jordi Alba will finally be unveiled as an Inter Miami player this week, officially joining former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets in MLS.

The signing of the Champions League-winning fullback was announced two weeks ago but Alba did not immediately join up with the team in Miami. Not only had Alba just finished the gruelling European season with Barcelona, he had also recently celebrated the birth of his son, Paolo.

However on Saturday Alba posted a picture on Instagram showing him preparing to depart for the United States.

The Athletic reports that Jordi Alba will be unveiled as an Inter Miami player with a presentation on Tuesday, 1 August at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

When will Jordi Alba make his Inter Miami debut?

Jordi Alba is the third of a hat-trick of big name signings made by Inter Miami this summer. Messi and Busquets both made their debuts as substitutes during the Leagues cup fixture against Cruz Azul, before featuring from the start last week against Atlanta United.

Once Alba has been unveiled on Tuesday he could well be in the squad to play Orlando City in the Leagues Cup Round of 32 on Wednesday evening.

This fixture will be the third match in a row in which the Herons have played at their home pitch, giving the Miami faithful a chance to welcome Alba to the club in a competitive fixture.

In announcing Alba’s arrival, Chief Soccer Director and Sporting Director Chris Henderson described the 34-year-old as an “accomplished, dynamic and experienced player” who will “continue bolstering our squad”.
