PrizePicks has confirmed the hire of Renee White as its Chief People Officer (CPO) and Phil Sherwood as its Senior Director of Responsible Gaming.

White brings decades of experience from blue chip organisations. Most recently she spent nearly two decades at Warner Bros Discovery in a variety of leadership roles. She last served as the Head of People & Culture for Turner Sports, Bleacher Report and Turner Studios.

The start of White’s career was at Turner Broadcasting, supporting several divisions, including the Atlanta Braves as their HR Manager.

Sherwood, meanwhile, will lead the responsible gaming initiatives for PrizePicks and attempt to bring a “safe, responsible and secure daily fantasy sports experience.”

Most recently, he was the Chief Communications Officer at the Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health (MACGH) which included Sherwood spearheading the first statewide Remote Voluntary Self-Exclusion (VSE) Program, and prior to that he was the President of the Board of Directors for the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).

Sherwood’s hire comes after DraftKings this week appointed Lori Kalani as its first Chief Responsible Gaming Officer.

PrizePicks Co-founder & CEO Adam Wexler said: “Renee and Phil bring invaluable experience that will accelerate our growth as a company.

“Renee’s storied career as a people leader and her ties to the Atlanta community cannot be understated; having her join us at such a crucial phase for the company is pivotal.

“Combined with Phil expanding upon our responsible gaming initiatives, I’m excited to see both play a role in ensuring our business continues to prioritise its two most valued assets: our people and our players.”

In related news, PrizePicks at the start of this month announced plans to establish a new headquarters in Atlanta’s Star Metals Building in Midtown Atlanta, which is projected to generate approximately 1,000 employment opportunities.
