FanDuel has been chosen as the Canadian Football League’s (CFL) first authorised gaming operator and an Official Sportsbook Partner.
As the US sports betting brand from Flutter Entertainment, FanDuel will offer fans in Ontario the opportunity to wager on CFL games.
This will include a range of betting markets, for both future bets and in-game player propositions.
With the upcoming 110th Grey Cup CFL championship being held this winter, fans will also be able to place bets on which team they think will reign victorious.
Dale Hooper, GM of FanDuel Canada, said: “We are very proud to kick off our partnership with the CFL, a league with some of Canada’s most passionate fans.
“The CFL is a Canadian institution, and we are excited to provide sports bettors with an industry-leading experience.”
There will be strict measures in place at FanDuel to ensure compliance measures are met, such as only allowing those who are 19-years-old or higher to wager on the sport.
Tyler Mazereeuw, CFL CCO, said: “Responsible sports wagering is another way for our league to further its connection with our fans.
“In addition to taking in our fun, fast and entertaining brand of football, some fans may wish to engage with the game on a more personal level.
“We’re excited to work with FanDuel to deliver an exciting and innovative betting experience.”
Prior to this announcement, the CFL also implemented a Match Manipulation Policy, to safeguard the integrity of the sport.
This was done in collaboration with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES).
Also, FanDuel signed a deal with Prove Identity, for enhanced security and identity fraud measurements.
