After its launch in New Jersey last year, DraftKings Rocket is now live in all five states that offer legal iGaming in the US, as well as the Canadian province of Ontario.
The online game offers players the chance to win cash by competing against other players in real time, each placing bets on the rise of the rocket and when they think it will fall – cashing out when bailing from the rocket in the game.
The sports betting company, best known for its online and retail sportsbook, has several iGaming casino games on offer for consumers in the US. Meanwhile, it also recently announced a deal with the Golden Nugget Lake Charles to provide the biggest retail sportsbook in Louisiana from the casino hotel.
The new agreement sees DraftKings’ sportsbook in the Golden Nugget offer players 3,200 square feet of TV screens playing live sports, 16 video poker machines, three blackjack tables, 300 lounge seats with VIP areas and 30 self-service kiosks spread across 12,000 square feet: alongside the new DraftKings Sportsbook Bar & Grill restaurant.
The DraftKings Rocket game, though launched last year, is indicative of two wider industry trends: one, B2C companies using proprietary technology to create their own games more often; two, the cross-selling of sports bettors to online casino games, where revenue potential is far higher – so less players are needed for higher profits.
