Betway Premier League Darts betting: MvG can conquer world champ in Liverpool

Betway Premier League Darts betting: MvG can conquer world champ in Liverpool

It will be a cracking battle between Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson but the Dutchman should triumph

Michael van Gerwen taking on Gary Anderson is undoubtedly the highlight of week three of the Betway Premier League, and after demolishing the world champion in Germany at the weekend, MVG is well worth backing in Liverpool.

These two have been the standout players in the Betway Premier League thus far, both winning their two matches so far. They proved they are the two form players at the moment on Sunday when they stormed to the final of the German Darts Championship, but it was Mighty Mike who really proved a point in Hildesheim.

After a close start, MVG turned on the style to win four legs on the spin and emerge with a 6-2 win, boasting an average verging on 118. It was a scarily good display from the world number one and has to give him the edge this week. Van Gerwen has also won seven of the last 10 meetings between the two, so it is he that should be backed this week at EVENS.

James Wade also looks good value to beat Dave Chisnall on Thursday night. Chizzy is the third man to hold a 100% record so far but it is hard to see how this has happened as he is not averaged 95 yet. Wade, in comparison, ended with a 104 average in beating Kim Huybrechts last week.

The Machine has an impressively one-sided winning record against Chisnall and if he plays anything like his best then he looks a great price at 11/10.

The two men who are odds-on for wins this week are Adrian Lewis and Phil Taylor, and it is hard to argue with that as they take on Kim Huybrechts and Stephen Bunting respectively.

Huybrechts looks set to really struggle at this level and has lost his last six contests against Lewis. Jackpot looked good in reaching the semi-finals in Germany over the weekend and should blow the Hurricane away in Liverpool.

Bunting may have beaten Taylor on the big stage last year but the Power was sensational last week in Bournemouth and once on a roll he is very difficult to stop. The Lewis-Taylor double pays out at just under 12/5 , which looks extremely generous.

Finally, there is the crucial clash between Peter Wright and Raymond van Barneveld, with both searching for their first points of the tournament. Both men are struggling and it’s hard to pick a winner in this one. Their two clashes in this event last year finished in a draw and a narrow 7-5 win for Barney so clearly there is very little between them. The draw could well be worth backing this time around, especially at a very tasty 7/2.

Recommended bets:

Michael van Gerwen to beat Gary Anderson @ EVENS

James Wade to beat Dave Chisnall @ 11/10

Adrian Lewis & Phil Taylor to win @ 2.35

Raymond van Barneveld v Peter Wright – Draw @ 7/2
