The Swedish Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen, has launched a campaign aimed at young adults, which looks at the consequences of gambling for money.

Aimed at young adults aged 18-25 years old, the ‘With your future as a bet’ campaign focuses on unhealthy and risky gambling, with a page available on the Spelinspektionen website which provides more information about young people’s gambling and where they can find help.

To ensure young people are reached with the messages of this campaign, it will be made visible across digital channels that they often use.

The Swedish Gambling Inspectorate is working with the Public Health Agency and the Swedish Crown Prosecutor for this campaign to counteract the negative consequences of gambling for money among young people.

Spelinspektionen Head of Communications Yvonne Hejdenberg said: “Many come into contact with some form of gambling for money via computer games and apps. Through the campaign, we try to talk about the consequences of unhealthy gambling in an emotional way.

“We believe that the campaign will also be able to speak to adults, especially parents or relatives of children in the target group.”

Last month, Spelinspektionen released new measures in an effort to strengthen integrity in the industry, with the two projects focusing on match-fixing and illegal operations.

In other responsible gambling news today, the Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) has released a modified Responsible Gaming Policy Rule, which is aimed at enhancing the safety of the online gambling market.
