Organisers of the Malta-based gambling industry show have described news of an early release vaccine as a “positive boost” to the events industry.
In August, the group announced SiGMA would be postponed until February as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, organisers have decided to push this back a further two months.
According to a company statement, the second date change follows approval from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency for the UK to begin administering the world’s first COVID-19 vaccine this month.
SiGMA Europe will take place in Ta’ Qali, Malta. The event’s original venue, the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre, is still confirmed for the April show.
Eman Pulis, founder of SiGMA Group, said: “The early release of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine makes us hopeful that a sense of normality will now resume within the next four months.
“Our recent Virtual expo was a huge success, but we hope to now continue building these relationships in person as we launch into what looks set to be a very exciting year.”
