The deals mean Bwin will continue to be the exclusive sports betting partner for Borussia Dortmund, Union Berlin, Cologne, St. Pauli and Dynamo Dresden.
Each of the agreements will run until the end of the 2023/2024 campaign.
“It’s a great honour for us to continue our long-term partnership with these long-standing clubs. Our sponsorships underline the importance of the fans and the passion for football,” said Stephan Heilmann, Managing Director of Digital Europe Entain.
“We’d like to thank Bwin for placing their trust in us. We still believe that the two brands are an excellent match,” Borussia Dortmund’s Managing Director added.
Commenting further on the extension deal, Thomas Stäpke, Director of Finance and Sales at Union Berlin, said the team is “delighted to be able to keep giving our fans attractive matchday offers.”
Alexander Wehrle, Managing Director of FC Cologne, outlined the importance of having Bwin on itsside as a betting partner, expressing that the collaboration between the club and the brand has already developed “exciting features” to the fans, such as FC Cologne Matchday Tip and betting odds integrations online.
Entain says the renewed sponsorship agreement reflects an “ambition for its global brands to be part of great sporting experiences enjoyed by customers, at all levels.”
In 2019 Bwin has been designated as “Official Sports Betting Partner of the DFB German Football League.” This includes an advertising partnership with the DFB Cup, as well as advertising rights for the national teams until December 31, 2022 and for the Women’s Bundesliga and 3. The second-tier 2. Bundesliga began on 23 July, while the 2021/22 Bundesliga season kicks off on 13 August.
