Sportradar agrees new integrity deal with Brazilian Football Confederation

The agreement extension includes increased monitoring of more Brazilian football competitions.

As per the deal, Sportradar will employ its Integrity Services’ Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS) in 27 state-level competitions, monitoring bets across these areas. Extended coverage will reach youth leagues too, including the Brasileiro U20 league and the Campeonato Brasileiro de Aspirantes.

Sportradar has pledged to monitor over 3000 CBF-sanctioned matches per year under the new contract, including continued monitoring of Série C and Série D. Provisions under the previous contract to allow intelligence and investigation services to assist the CBF in pinpointing breaches to sporting integrity will remain in place.

There are, however, additions to the agreement other than an increased monitoring scope. One such addition is the promise of three live online integrity workshops per season, delivered by education experts at Sportradar. The aim is to inform players, staff and stakeholders of the potential threats posed by match-fixing.

Sportradar moved quickly to quell any notion of a limit to UFDS’s capabilities, citing an advanced and proven bet monitoring system with verifiable dependency from recognised experts. It details how bet patterns are analysed for abnormalities, reporting suspicious matches to partners, such as the CBF. This process is designed to increase critical visibility into domestic and global match-fixing.

Acting CBF President, Ednaldo Rodrigues, has praised the value and trust between the two parties.

He says: “UFDS bet monitoring [is] providing vital insights into the betting activity on our competitions. Extending this partnership helps to strengthen our mission to protect Brazilian football, and by adding their live integrity workshops, we will gain an extra layer of protection by ensuring that education is delivered on the integrity dangers facing our competitions.”

Sportradar hails its continued partnership with CBF as a firm indication of a ‘commitment to protecting world football from would-be corruptors.’

Sportradar’s renewed agreement with CBF adds to its existing partnerships with CONMEBOL, FIFA, UEFA and AFC.
