William Hill confirmed as title sponsor of SPFL

The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has announced a ‘landmark’ title sponsorship deal with William Hill.

Back in May, reports came out which suggested the deal would happen, underlining how it was going to be a record-breaking one for the SPFL, as it looked to find a new title sponsor to replace online car retailer Cinch.

The agreement is set for five years, starting from the upcoming 2024/25 season, and will see the operator become the title sponsor of all four SPFL divisions and become the Official Betting Partner of the SPFL as well.

On top of this sponsorship deal, William Hill and the SPFL have partnered with global consultancy Epic Global Solutions, who are focused on gambling harm prevention.

This will see Epic launch a multi-year programme on gambling harm awareness across Scottish football for SPFL players, staff and supporters.

Through this programme, workshops will be delivered to players and backroom staff across all of the 42 SPFL clubs to educate them on the dangers of gambling harm in the elite sports environment. Epic will also deliver sessions to supporters and community groups within clubs that have Community Trusts.

Scottish Football Marketing Commerical Director Brendan Napier said: “Securing such a well-known, marquee brand as William Hill on a record-breaking deal is a tremendous coup for Scottish football and underscores the attractiveness of our national sport for forward-thinking sponsors.

“It’s early days for Scottish Football Marketing, but today’s announcement sets a very welcome standard for future deals and signals that Scotland’s national sport is well and truly open for business.”

In related news, BK8 has agreed a deal with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to become the official sponsor of the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2024.
