The Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden, has published gambling results in Denmark for May 2024.
Gross gaming revenue (GGR) reached DKK 571m ($81.94m) during the month of May, though this represented a decrease of 3.4% year-on-year, with online casino dominating the p at DKK 278m.
Looking at some of the other segments, betting was the next-largest p at DKK 164m, though this was a drop-off of 21.5%, while gaming machines followed at DKK 96m, a decrease from the DKK 98m it recorded in the same period last year.
While land-based casinos only made 5.35% of the total GGR in gaming, its p of DKK 32m was a slight increase of 3.2% compared to May 2023.
Looking closer at online casino, gaming machines made up the majority of the total DKK 278m at 76.76%, while blackjack at 6.88% and roulette 6.19% were the next highest amounts.
As for the distribution of stakes on sales channels for betting, unsurprisingly mobile made up the majority at 64.01%, with computer next at 26.40%, followed by land-based at 9.59%.
Value of stakes by day of the week saw Sunday with the highest percentage at 17.79%, followed closely by Saturday at 16.58%.
In other results-based news this week, Groupe Partouche has released its financial ps for H1 FY2024, showing a 2.3% rise in its turnover and 1.7% increase in its GGR.
However, the group’s EBITDA and total net income experienced drop-offs compared to the same period last year.
